Pilgrimage journeys
For many residents, faith remains an important part of life while they are away. We arrange accompanied visits to Orthodox and Catholic holy sites, allow time for rest and keep the pace unhurried. Attending a service is always optional.
Holy sites
90 min · full day
Ostrog is built into a sheer cliff above the Zeta valley and houses the relics of St Basil of Ostrog. The road reaches the upper monastery, so the visit does not require a long uphill walk.
40 min · half day
The monastery in Montenegro’s old royal capital houses the right hand of John the Baptist. The route from the minibus is short and level, and we allow plenty of time for the visit.
15 min · half day
This small, quiet monastery stands among old olive trees near Petrovac. The main route is step-free, making it a comfortable place to pause for private prayer.
10 min · half day
Set above Budva with views across the bay, the monastery was once home to the bishop and poet Petar II Petrović-Njegoš. It is the closest monastery to the residence.
60 min · half day
The small island in the Bay of Kotor is home to a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The crossing from Perast takes only a few minutes, with seating on both the boat and the island.
50 min · half day
The Catholic cathedral, founded in 1166, houses the relics of St Tryphon. It stands in the centre of Kotor old town, a short and mostly level walk from the pier.
Support
We discuss the route with residents and their families in advance. We take account of each person’s ability and leave time for silence, a candle or prayer. Participation in services and rituals is always voluntary.
Next step
Conversations are possible now; the residence opens in 2027. At your request, we can discuss accompanied pilgrimages in a short overview — not a priced offer as the first step.
